Gymnastics
We have began our gymnastics unit at Beddington Heights as part of our regular scheduled physical education classes. This unit will last two weeks, and concludes on Friday January 24th. To begin this unit, we review ways of using the equipment safely. We are fortunate to have some students from Grade 6 to assist us with spotting on the equipment. When participating in gymnastics, we ask students to be dressed appropriately and prepared to participate. These next two weeks, please consider the following:
- Clothes that allow freedom of movement (no special uniforms or outfits are required, sweats and a t-shirt work well).
- Loose fitting/baggy clothing may get caught on equipment.
- Tucking shirts in will help to prevent an accident.
- All jewelry (watches, rings, necklaces, bracelets, headbands, etc) that could get caught on equipment needs to be removed (left in classrooms or at home).
- Students with long hair should have it tied back. Tying hair back with elastics or scrunchies is recommended.
- Students may wear shorts under clothing if they wish. Dresses may restrict ability to participate.
- Students continue to wear indoor running shoes (1st preference). Students may also participate in bare feet or with gymnastics slippers.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Mr. T
