Pillars of Care in February
Dear Parents,
As Valentine’s Day approaches this February, we are building
our understanding of the pillar of Care
for Others through discussions about compliments and kind deeds. In an effort to go green and take Care of this Place, this year we will not be exchanging Valentines cards en mass. Instead, we will be drawing a “compliment
buddy” from the class who we will offer compliments and kind deeds towards for
the rest of the week. With our Care of Learning, we will create a
special “Math Valentine” for our buddy in class to send home next
Wednesday. As well, we will be creating
a special craft to take home to our families. As we Care
for Ourselves, we are continuing our discussion about healthy fuel for our
bodies and brains, we kindly ask that no
treats be sent into the classroom for Valentine’s Day.
A reminder that next week there is no school on February13 & 14 for Teachers' Convention and on February 17 for Family Day. Enjoy the weekend with your family!
Yoga Stories
We enjoyed a yoga break today in the classroom. We had a fun story meeting Pedro the Penguin from Cosmic Kids Yoga on YouTube. With all of this cold weather, it is hard to get out and play, but there are lots of fun ideas to get active inside! Feel free to check this YouTube account out if you find yourself stuck with nothing to do.
